James Woods Suing Twitter User For... Well, Being Like Everyone Else on Twitter

James Woods Suing Twitter User For... Well, Being Like Everyone Else on Twitter Actor James Woods is doing what pretty much everyone on Twitter wishes they could do (at least once) - he's suing another user for a whopping $10 million in damages... for being trolled.

The anonymous user under the handle of Abe List made comments about the "Family Guy" actor being a cocaine addict.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles' California Superior Court, also accuses Abe List of invasion of privacy by false light.

The papers call Abe List's comments a "malicious" online campaign intended to damage Woods' reputation and resulting in “shame, mortification, hurt feelings, emotional distress, embarrassment, humiliation and injury to his peace of mind."

Abe List reportedly started harassing Woods online in December, calling him “clown boy” and “scum."

July 15, Abe List tweeted “cocaine addict James Woods still sniffing and spouting."

Woods maintains that he never has used cocaine and that the statement is defamation of his character. The slight about cocaine use was seen by Abe List’s thousands of followers and possibly by Wood’s 238,512 Twitter followers.

“The false statement has been published for hundreds of thousands of people to see, which includes friends, family, potential employers, business associates, colleagues and fans of Woods," says the suit.

Though Abe List has since deleted his Twitter account, Woods is determined to track down the user behind the name.

If Woods manages to hunt down Abe List and drag him to court for a $10 million suit, will it finally change the face of Internet trolling as we know it?

Taking bets now on whether or not Abe List turns out to be a minor.
