James Franco: Is a Twitter War Brewing with Fellow Yale Students? (Bonus VIDEO: Franco's Grandma 'Gone Wild') When your Tweets are getting no love, what’s next?

James Franco can’t get away from critical eyes these days. Franco, who is pursuing a doctorate in English at Yale, was recently dissed in publication by a Yale University student for having twitter skills like “a fourteen-year-old girl with emo bangs and a Tumblr account.”

Yale Daily News writer Cokey Cohen actually blogged about Franco’s Twitter account the day before the Oscars. Cohen held that Franco is not just any “rando” on Twitter.

“He's a Celebrity Tweeter, which deserves all caps and necessitates a higher quality of meaningless, incessant electronic communication,” Cohen wrote.

Franco responded with a picture of himself and few explicit words, his feelings about the Daily News, written in red on top.

In another blog, Cohen responded to Franco’s response and his job at Oscars with her new belief that his “whole life is a form of postmodern performance art.”

Cohen, who told the New Haven Register that is was all in fun, joked that the blogs are possibly the pinnacle of her writing career. Cohen admitted she was surprised about the large reaction from readers defending Franco, and that she to is a “big fan.”

In her own defense, she said the critique was part of her job as a blogger observing you culture and that her tone is always "tongue-in-cheek."

The New York Times on Thursday provided a deeper look at the duality within Franco's life as a known actor and full-time student.

After the Oscars, he rushed back on a red-eye to be in class by 9:25 a.m. the next day.

“I was surprised and delighted that he made it to class,” Jessica Brantley, an associate professor of English, told the paper. “He’s a dedicated student.”

The article goes on to say that Franco works hard (really hard) and maintains a low profile, despite the high level of student awareness in everything he does.

Franco's campus fans, calling themselves the new "francophiles," follow his moves on a campus blog called "James Franco Has Fun" where you can see pictures of fake Franco sightings (usually a person wearing a mask with a picture of his face) and find funny videos, including this one of James' famous grandma.
