'Paranormal Activity 3' Trailer; It's in the House (Again)!

Get ready for some sleepless nights because "Paranormal Activity" is back with it's third installment. You know what that means: shaky "found" footage, creepy chills and sudden screams. The people who put together these trailers certainly know what they're doing because even though it's 100 degrees outside today, the new teaser left me fighting off goosebumps.

The original indie critical and commercial hit movie, shot on a shoe-string budget in filmmaker Oren Peli's house, went on to take in nearly $108 million in the US alone.

The film centered around a young couple, Katie and Micah, who document via camcorder their uninvited supernatural guest. The popularity of the first movie lead to a second, filmed in the same style and focused on Katie's sister Kristi and her family. Retaining all the realism and chills of the first, the second film was also a major success.

The third installment, according to the trailer, is another prequel. The prior two films referenced a spirit that followed sisters Katie and Kristi since they were little girls, ultimately burning down their childhood home. Casper the friendly ghost this is not.

The trailer takes us all the way back to this time in the young girl's lives, when they were carefree and un-haunted.But not for long. The third film in the franchise promises to explain the reasons behind Katie and Kristi's haunting.

Standing in front of their bathroom mirror with an old 80's video camera on a tripod, they dare themselves to chant Bloody Mary three times in the dark. As they leave the room, squealing and giggling, they fail to notice the dark female figure now standing in the mirror. Creepy!

So they're haunted by the ghost of....Mary Tudor? I would have to give the movie props if it suddenly became a historical haunting tale. It could explain why the spirit was so obsessed with Kristi's son, since Mary Tudor suffered several hysterical pregnancies and died childless. Of course, that could just be the history nerd in me talking.

What is certain is that the trailer is "bloody" scary:
