Even after spending the weekend engaged in a public relationship breakdown, Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna couldn't drum up decent ratings for their reality series on Sunday night. The night's special episode of Rob & Chyna, which featured the birth of the couple's baby, turned in series-low ratings.

The hyped baby-special episode drew 947,000 viewers and earned a .44 rating in the 18-49 age demographic. That's down about a quarter from the regular series finale back in October.

When the reality series debuted on the E! cable network in September, it looked like a hit. Its 2 million viewers came close to challenging the night's top show, Fear The Walking Dead, and E! boasted that the series was the highest-rated non-scripted debut of the year.

But the series' ratings fell dramatically after that, with its penultimate episode on October 9 drawing less than half the viewership of the premiere. This Sunday's special episode was the tenth-highest-rated program on cable for the night, with a rating less than half that of the night's top show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

E! just last week renewed Rob & Chyna for a second season. Now, the stars' relationship turmoil and sinking ratings make that move look like a questionable one.
