Infamous 2007 Michael Jackson Crank Call Confirmed Real...By Threatened Lawsuit

Legendary prank-caller Ralphige has gotten one over on Donald Trump, Paris Hilton and Chris Brown with his vocal guerrilla warfare. And the estate of the late, great Michael Jackson has all but legally admitted that the crank-yanker successfully pulled a fast one on the King of Pop, too.

However, with that ego-stroking admission, Ralphige may never make a penny off the recording.

TMZ reported today that Jackson’s estate threatened to sue the phone-jokester if he went through with a plan to sell the recorded call via his website for 99 cents per download without official consent from Jackson’s estate.

The estate has argued that since the recording (admittedly) features Jackson’s real voice, it’s not kosher for Ralphige to make a quick buck off the accomplished rib.

Ralphige made the famous call in 2007 and pretended to be big-name producer Akon. He then proceeded to needle Jackson about his infamous child-molestation allegations, but Jackson claimed during the call that Ralphige wasn’t speaking to the real King of Pop. Jackson claimed instead to be an impersonator.

The site has been temporarily taken down, but Ralphige puts a different spin on the situation and foreshadows more legal battles ahead.

“The letter, if anything, it at least proves to the doubters that the prank call is real,” he said. “I am afraid the estate is not aware Michael personally gave me permission to release the phone call. This is something that I am sure will be discussed in the near future.”
