Inconceivable: Princess Bride and More on Netflix in April
by EG
For quite some time, the strength of Netflix's catalog has been in original programming and TV series, not in theatrical movies. This April, though, the service will deliver a solid slate of theatrical films that will give viewers something to keep them busy after they've finished binge watching their favorite series.
The lineup for April includes several movies with substantial cult followings. Perhaps the biggest among them is the classic comedy The Princess Bride, but the list of new arrivals also includes V for Vendetta and A Clockwork Orange. Well-reviewed mainstream films are also on the list, including 2001: A Space Odyssey, Boogie Nights, Erin Brockovich, Mystic River and The Shawshank Redemption.
Toward the end of the month - April 24, to be exact - Netflix will also snag a recent hit theatrical release, a rare acheivement for the service these days, when the animated Minions becomes available.
New original content in April includes a new season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the anime AJIN and Ashton Kutcher's The Ranch. Netflix will also deliver new seasons of broadcast and cable series such as Lost Girl, How To Get Away With Murder, Girl Meets World, Fixer Upper, Beat Bobby Flay and Giada At Home.
