Idina Menzel to Perform 'Frozen' Hit 'Let it Go' at This Year's Oscars

Disney's breakout hit "Frozen" will be coming to the Oscars!

Idina Menzel ("Rent"), the voice behind the ice-cursed queen Elsa, will be performing the nominated original song "Let it Go" (written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez).

The song is up against "Happy" ("Despicable Me 2"), "Ordinary Love" ("Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom") and "The Moon Song" ("Her").

Menzel is thrilled to be performing live.

"This is definitely a dream come true for me. I'm happy for the movie, I'm happy to be a part of the whole things, and to have a song that really resonates with people is just beyond."

She had previously hinted that she would like to perform at the Oscars, saying she already had permission and to "cross your fingers that I can get out there and do my thing and just really try to have fun with the idea."

This morning she got that wish.

"It's really happening," she tweeted. "I'm singing in the Oscars! Surreal. Thank u frozen family and Oscar producers for this incredible opportunity."

Recently Disney re-released the film in theaters with a Sing-Along version, contributing to the over $900 million the film has raked in at the box office.

Ellen DeGeneres returns to host this year's Oscars, which broadcast live on Sunday, March 2nd on ABC.
