'How I Met Your Mother' Season 7, Episode 2 Recap - 'The Naked Truth'

'How I Met Your Mother' Season 7, Episode 2 Recap - 'The Naked Truth' What's that? A second "How I Met Your Mother" in one night? Don't mind if I do!

The mystery continues: is Barney really going to marry Nora this season? Or is it Robin waiting in the other room as Barney decides which tie to wear?

We'll find out later. Probably. But right now, Ted and Marshall have some problems. Marshall gets a call from Garrison Cootes, who works for an environmental firm that Marshall is trying to get into. That means a lovely cameo from Martin Short, who gives us some classic misdirection.

Here's the problem, though: Cootes said that they were going to do a quick background check on Marshall before they make a decision, but when he Googles himself, Marshall finds a potentially incriminating video: Beercules. Apparently, Marshall thinks that drinking heavily and streaking might make potential employers wary of his personal responsibility. I think it's hilarious.

That leads Marshall to track down his old college "buddy" who posted the video and challenge him to a game of Edward 40-Hands in order to convince him to take it down. Man, Marshall has been drunk a LOT so far this season. Good times.

The end result, of course, is just another video (Beercules: The Sequel), but as it turns out, Martin Short just finds it pretty funny. See? That's what I said!

Ted, meanwhile, has found a way to manufacture his own "moment of pure destiny" by reading the magazine that has him featured on the cover, while standing in front of the newsstand. Sneaky. That lands him 16 "moments of pure destiny" out of which he gets two dates. Not the greatest rate of return, but still good.

So, Ted spends the episode weighing the pros and cons of the two girls, trying to decide which one to take to the Architect's Ball. That means pro/con lists and color charts! Yay!

Ultimately, though, Ted just takes Robin with him. But while he's there, he spots...Victoria! Yes, that Victoria, from season one. We haven't seen her in roughly five years, since she took that fellowship in Germany. Where is this headed? Already this season is setting up some big stuff.

And speaking of which, Barney seems pretty serious about this Nora thing. So much so, in fact, that he starts being honest with her (bad idea) and tells her every lie he's ever told to get a woman to sleep with him (even worse idea). Nora listens to all of it, and understandably leaves...but Barney says that in order to prove that he's serious, he'll stay in this 24-hour diner until he gets a second date with her.

Sure enough, he sleeps there and orders water until Nora comes back. Another point for Nora, no points for Robin. A million points for us, because we're in for a ride this season, methinks.
