'How I Met Your Mother' Season 7, Episode 19 Recap - 'The Broath'

'How I Met Your Mother' Season 7, Episode 19 Recap - 'The Broath' A question possibly answered, and another one raised: it was a revelatory evening on "How I Met Your Mother," with an episode that even M. Night Shyamalan would have been a little surprised by.

Okay, so maybe you saw the big twist coming, but Barney and Quinn ran a pretty good con, didn't they? The story we see, through some familiarly strange HIMYM-style structure, is one that has Barney worried about the gang meeting Quinn because of her profession and the fact that she swindled him out of a bunch of money. He's so worried, in fact, that he has Ted take a "broath" (that's a bro oath, of course) to keep her profession a secret. Of course Ted spills the beans right away.

The stripping isn't really the issue, though. The gang meets Quinn and finds her to be "a little controlling," as she has Barney calling her by increasingly ridiculous pet names, pouring her wine, bringing out all the food, and asking her when he can and can't go to the bathroom.

This prompts the group to stage a "Quinntervention" (Marshall is especially proud of that one), which Quinn unfortunately walks in on, leading to a quick slap and a breakup. But when the gang goes to apologize the Barney, they discover the truth: the whole thing was a prank (and Quinn's idea), orchestrated from the very beginning. Barney even got Ted and Marshall to kiss.

What we're left with is the real Barney and Quinn, who are pretty much perfect for each other. In fact, they're moving in together, and we may have the answer to this season's big question: to whom is Barney getting married? When Barney asks Quinn what, hypothetically, would get her to stop stripping, she responds with "getting married."

But the episode raised another question: can Ted get back to normal with Robin, and what exactly did Ted mean by "we wouldn't see each other for a long time, but I'll get to that?"

The remainder of this season should be interesting, and considering how few are left, expect some fireworks.
