'How I Met Your Dad' Adds to Its Cast

'How I Met Your Dad' Adds to Its Cast The cast of the "How I Met Your Mother" spin-off, the creatively title "How I Met Your Dad," got a little fuller this week when we learned that Krysta Rodriguez would take a role in the pilot. After a few weeks of increasingly positive reaction to the direction that HIMYD was taking, the casting of the relatively unknown Rodriguez might have edged the excitement meter for the show back to neutral.

Rodriguez, who had a role in the second season of the now-cancelled NBC musical series "Smash," will play Juliet, the best friend of the series' lead, Sally, who will be played by Greta Gerwig. Juliet is described as "a sexy, flamboyant force of nature who runs the most successful fashion blog in the country," which would seem to make her the spin-off's version of Barney Stinson.

Fans of Eliza Dushku are likely a bit disappointed at the news, since it probably means that Dushku won't be in the HIMYD pilot after all. Dushku had hinted in a tweet recently that she was reading the pilot's script, leading to speculation that she might be in the running for the role of Juliet.

The show's confirmed cast also includes fresh face Drew Tarver, who will play Sally's brother-in-law. Still to be cast are the roles of Sally's brother and Juliet's colleague, who is described as a "hot nerd."
