Hugh Jackman Accepts Hollywood Star
by Shannon KeirnanEveryone’s favorite Wolverine has finally earned his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The “X-Men” star, introduced by Jay Leno and supported by “Les Miserables” co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway, accepted the 2,487th star on Thursday.
"I don't believe wealth and fame changes anybody, I think it just exaggerates who you already are," Leno said of Jackman. “And I think all your wealth and success and fame and all these things have just made you more of the better person you are."
Jackman was happy to be surrounded by his family—wife Deborra-Lee Furness, son Oscar and daughter Ava.
Even better, Jackman got the nod for a SAG nomination earlier in the week. He also was told about his Golden Globe nomination earlier that morning, both for his work as Jean Valjean in “Les Miserables.”
"It's kind of a surreal day," Jackman said. "I'll probably always remember Thursday, Dec. 13 and I think I'm either going straight from here to buy a lottery ticket or to a casino because it just feels like someone is looking down on me in a very nice way at this moment."
"I believe this is the 2,487th star on the Walk of Fame," Jackman joked, "however, apart from Lassie, I'm the only one who's gotten it for playing the same character in 15 movies."
You can check out Jackman and his attractive posse in “Les Miserables,” hitting theaters this Christmas Day. Judging by all the nominations Jackman’s reeling it, it promises to be epic.
