Episode House Season 6, Episode 22 - 'Help Me' Recap

A collapse happens at a construction site and House and team are there to remove victims. House (Hugh Laurie) finds a woman, Hannah, whose leg is trapped underneath concrete. The two wait for rescue team members to help her out. When Cuddy and team suggest amputation of Hannah’s leg, House refuses.

Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) has news for House and he gives her the book by her grandfather he had been searching for. While house detects there is trouble with Cuddy and Lucas, Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) attends to patients.

When House calls Cuddy out on her less than thrilled reaction about the gift, Cuddy explains she thought it was an engagement gift: she and Lucas are getting married.

Back at the hospital, the team tends to the victims, which include the construction worker who caused the disaster. Initially, it was thought he fell asleep on the job, but the team ultimately believes he has a neurological condition.

Remy (Olivia Wilde) shows up late because of “physical therapy” and later leaves a letter on House’s, saying she is taking time off.

At the construction site, workers try to remove Hannah, but the building is collapsing further. House still refuses amputation, in part, because of his own handicap. Cuddy angrily tells House she doesn’t love him. After which, House tells Hannah they must amputate. He confesses that in attempts to save his own leg, he has become hardened as a person and faces daily pain. Once in the ambulance, Hannah’s lung collapses and she dies as a result of the amputation.

A defeated House smashes a mirror in the bathroom and grabs for his medication. Before he’s about to take what could be too much, Cuddy appears. She has broken up with Lucas and tells House she hasn’t been able to move on. Cuddy tells House she loves him and the two kiss.
