The last episode of season 2 of House of the Dragon, HBO's Game of Thrones spin-off, won't air until next Sunday, but some people got an advance peek at the episode thanks to an unauthorized leak online. It happened again — HBO’s hit series House of the Dragon has been hit with another online leak ahead of its season two finale.

Dozens of clips from the eighth episode, scheduled to premiere on Aug. 4, were illegally uploaded to a new TikTok account Tuesday night, less than a week before the finale was set to drop. ComicBook.com reported that the clips appeared to be captured by someone filming a screen with a secondary device.

The account and videos have since been taken down, however, the clips have already been re-shared on TikTok as well as X (formerly Twitter). ComicBook.com also reported that the videos on the initial TikTok account had more than 100,000 views prior to their removal.

It wasn’t immediately clear who was responsible for the leak. The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to HBO for comment.

This isn’t the first time the House of the Dragon finale has been leaked online. In 2022, days before the season one finale aired, the episode was illegally made available. At the time, HBO attributed the leak to a distribution partner in Europe, the Middle East or Africa.

“It appears to have originated from a distribution partner in the EMEA region,” a company spokesperson told THR in a statement at the time. “HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet.”

A similar situation also happened in 2017 when an episode from season seven of Game of Thrones was illegally uploaded to illegal torrent sites prior to its debut.
