Holy F*%# the New 'American Horror Story' Clown Promos Are F*%#ing Terrifying

"American Horror Story" is not messing around this year.

If you thought that "Asylum" and "Coven" were lacking in actual scares, then "Freak Show" is going to be the season for you. Seriously, if these promos are any indication, it's going to be a hell of a time.

One of the promos features a clown in full makeup, giving us a clown-like smile. When the cheers of the crowd change, his smile turns into a frown, and the morphs into a horrifying grimace.

The other promo features another clown, this time in silhouette behind the fabric of a tent. But when we try to sneak a peek through a hole in the tent...

Both videos are a serious step up in scariness from the first "AHS" promo for the new season, which featured an alien-like hand holding an "admit one" ticket to the Freak Show before pulling away off-camera.

The upcoming season of the Emmy-winning series will be set in the 1950's and center around one of the last remaining freak shows, run by Elsa Mars (played by Jessica Lange). Returning star Sarah Paulson will play a set of conjoined twins, and Kathy Bates (who just won an Emmy for her role in "Coven") will play the bearded lady. Angela Bassett will also be in the freak show as a woman with three breasts, and Michael Chiklis will play a strongman.

Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Denis O'Hare will also be returning to the show. Other new additions to the cast include Matt Bomer and Patti LaBelle.
