High Times? Maybe not for Chief Pope on Season 6 Episode 12 of The Closer - Episode Recap

Chief Will Pope on The Closer Anytime a new boss takes over, changes usually take place in the workplace and the Los Angeles Police Department is no exception. In Dec. 13's episode of The Closer titled 'High Crimes', Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson is offered a promotion to Assistant Chief of Operations by the new police chief. The problem is that job is currently held by her friend and former lover, Chief Will Pope. Interspersed in all this drama is the case of several armed robberies of medical marijuana clinics. The case is handed to Brenda's Major Crime Squad by the new police chief without Chief Pope's knowledge--a sign of the new chief's lack of confidence in Pope. At first the case seems simple--three guys with motorcycle helmets rob the clinics of cash and drugs and no one is hurt. The shooting death of one owner adds a sense of urgency to the case, which is solved with the show's common surprise twist.

Much to his chagrin, the new police chief names him as the police department's liaison to the clinic owners.

Sadly, fans of the The Closer only have another year to watch Johnson and her team solve crimes. Last week TNT announced that the show's run will end in 2011.
