'Heroes Reborn' Gets First Trailer, Plot Details
by Andy Neuenschwander
If you were one of the many fans who were upset when "Heroes" was canceled several years back, get ready to be excited.
NBC has released the first footage from their "Heroes Reborn" reboot, giving us a glimpse of some returning characters along with new ones.
The network also revealed some plot details for the show, which had been kept secret until now: "A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss. Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. (Jack Coleman), has gone off the grid but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski) finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy."
If that sounds a lot like "X-Men," that's because it's a lot like "X-Men." The show might also be drawing a bit from comics like Marvel's "Civil War," in which a group of superheroes cause a catastrophic accident in a suburban area, leading to a Superhero Registration Act.
In any case, we're thrilled to see HRG and Hiro back in action, and the new additions to the cast seem to be a great fit as well.
