Here's 'Mad Men' Star Jon Hamm on a Dating Show in the 90's
by Andy NeuenschwanderSo, maybe Don Draper doesn't always get the ladies...
In anticipation of the premiere of the final season of "Mad Men," this little gem surfaced on YouTube today. It's a video of Jon Hamm on the dating show "The Big Date," which aired back in the 90's, when Hamm was just 25 years old.
And it is fantastic.
Hamm, in his full 90's floppy-haired glory, vies for the affection of a girl with a self-professed foot fetish. We haven't seen Jon Hamm's feet, but we bet they're glorious.
And yet, this girl doesn't even pick Hamm at the end of the show. No, instead she goes with Marc, who looks like an 80's movie villain and definitely did not go on to star in "The Town" and have one of the best arcs ever in "30 Rock."
Think of it as inspiration for you aspiring actors out there. Emmy nominee Jon Hamm was on a terrible dating show. The man's job title was listed as "waiter" for god's sake.
Meanwhile, the seventh and final season of "Mad Men" had its big red-carpet premiere this week on Hollywood in anticipation of the television premiere on April 13. Only a few details have been revealed about the upcoming season...in fact, it's not even 100% clear in which year the final season takes place. What we do know is that some of the season will focus on the ascension of Richard Nixon, an interesting point considering that the old Sterling Cooper helped with Nixon's failed campaign back in season one.
