'Hell's Kitchen' Season 9, Episode 6 '12 Chefs Compete' Recap

'Hell's Kitchen' Season 9, Episode 6 '12 Chefs Compete' Recap Monday night's episode gave us the elimination of Gina, though I think just about everyone watching was hoping, as I was, that it would be Elise. She gives us even more reason to hate her as she celebrates not going home like she just won the freakin' lottery.

The teams will be cooking for a high school reunion, and Ramsay takes Paul and Elizabeth upstairs to meet with the reunion's committee. That worries the red team, who consider Elizabeth to be a major space cadet. They tell the chefs that they want a Hawaiian theme, and that they don't want any meat as one of the women is a pescatarian. Somehow, Elizabeth gets the idea for an Asian theme out of that, with pork as an option. Uh oh.

Carrie manages to present her dish without showing that they totally missed the theme, but also manages to talk over the committee women to the point where Ramsay as to politely tell her to shut the hell up. Blue team gets a point.

Monterray actually performs with his pork dish and mango pineapple chutney, while the red team's dish is outed as Asian, and not Hawaiian. Blue team gets another point.

With the third dish, red team really screws the pooch...Elise serves up scallops with a bacon-laced sauce, not knowing that one of the women doesn't eat meat. Will serves up some fish that goes over well. The editors treat us to an awkward bit of editing that make the tasting seem overtly sexual, which probably made everyone very uncomfortable. Regardless, blue team gets the point.

Red team loses the morning challenge yet again, which means they clearn the kitchen while blue team parties on a yacht. Has red team won a single challenge?

Thanks to the yacht reward, Hell's Kitchen gets the "Jersey Shore" treatment, which is to say the blue team gets way too drunk. That leads to a drunken photoshoot with Natalie, Will and Paul. No, really.

A disastrous cake causes Elise to call Carrie a "triflin' ass bitch" when Carrie implies that the cake is a joke. Which it is. It's laughably bad. It seems that it puts Ramsay in an even worse mood as he's even insulting James for wearing a lei.

The red team, at a disadvantage as they're preparing the blue team's dishes from earlier, struggle to get their appetizers out due to a lack of communication. Blue team is already on entrees, but Paul screws up the first table with some raw fish.

Elise steps up to lead the red team and things finally get rolling. Looks like she won't be going home this week either. It could be Carrie, who puts old rice in with a new batch. Or it could be Paul, who gets kicked off the fish station after another raw batch. Or it could be Monterray, who messes up a broccolini batch and then serves up another batch of raw fish after taking over for Paul. Monterray blames it on Jonathon not helping, but considering his past performance, it's hard to buy that.

The blue team gets kicked out...all of them. Jonathon says it "hurts my f***in' feelings." He immediately starts hurting Monterray's feelings too, telling him it's time for him to go home. Monty fights back, noting that he hasn't cooked anything yet and doesn't know the menu either.

Blue team nominates Monterray and Paul, both for the undercooked fish. Ramsay adds Jonathon to the mix, and Monty nods in satisfaction. Paul gives an impassioned speech that earns him the right to get back in line and stay through this week. Monterray tries to out Jonathon as unqualified, he even attacks his knife skills, but Ramsay still eliminates Monterray without a lot of thought.
