Heidi Klum to Go Nude to Promote 'Project Runway'

Heidi Klum to Go Nude to Promote 'Project Runway' "Project Runway" has been on for so many years now, and gone through so many changes in management, that it's going to take a serious shot in the arm to get it back out to the huge mainstream success it once was.

Wait, Heidi Klum is posing nude to promote it? Well done and done I'd say.

Though Klum has posed nude before (even in a music video, as well as your typical magazine spreads), anytime someone of her stature - both physically and culturally - makes a move like this, it gets some press.

As The Hollywood Reporter put it in their exclusive, the photo hasn't even been released (Klum has yet to sign off on the final choice) and it's a big TV news story today. It's especially huge considering it's in promotion not of her as such (though she certainly benefits), but of a television show. Never mind the irony of posing nude to promote a show about making clothes. It worked for Abercrombie, okay?

The president of the Lifetime Network, where "Project Runway" currently calls its home, Nancy Dubuc, said it was part of a push on the part of the network to embrace the contemporary woman. No word yet on whether they know contemporary women still wear clothes.

Dubuc is apparently making major changes across the board. She took control of the network a year ago and her chief aim is to get away from the "women in peril" motif the network has become known for. Klum posing nude is a way to "cut through the clutter" and besides, she noted, "It's Heidi F---in' Klum."

Now that is a woman who knows where her bread is buttered.
