HBO Sending 'True Blood' And 'Game Of Thrones' Envoys To San Diego Comic Con
by Sean ComerFor an HBO-loyalist, "True Blood" and "Game of Thrones" fanatic, San Diego is lovely place to be this July.
Access Hollywood reported Friday afternoon that the network is sending quite the slate of cast and creative minds from both hits to the annual San Diego Comic Con cavalcade of geekdom. "Game of Thrones" just completed its second season with a finale that ranked among HBO's highest rated season-ending episodes ever. "True Blood" is in the midst of its fifth season.
The July 13 "Game of Thrones" panel in the San Diego Convention Center's prestigious Hall H won't feature executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss - both are already overseeing the third season's early production in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Fans will just have to make due with stars Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey returning following last year's convention appearance. Richard Madden, Alfie Allen and Michelle Fairley will be first-time attending cast members, alongside executive producer Carolyn Strauss.
An autograph session will follow the panel, and the panel itself will be narrated by A Song of Fire & Ice anthology author George R.R. Martin.
Meanwhile, the "True Blood" panel and autograph session goes down July 14 in Ballroom 20. It might actually almost be easier to list who won't be there.
But for the purpose of clarity, the fifth-season song of vamps & werewolves is sending happy parents-to-be Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin, as well as Kristin Bauer van Straten, Nelsan Ellis, Ryan Kwanten, Joe Manganiello, Christopher Meloni, Alexander Skarsgard, Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley and Deborah Ann Woll.
