Has 'Game Of Thrones' Cast Its Blackfish?
by Sean ComerHBO isn't saying anything. But a London talent agency may have set off a reveal that could have "Game of Thrones" fans seeking a change of pants.
Entertainment Weekly reports that a London-based management group representing actor Clive Russell claims that the performer has been cast to play Ser Brynden "The Blackfish" Tully for HBO's upcoming third season of "Game of Thrones." As of now, HBO isn't officially addressing any casting questions.
In the George R.R. Martin "A Song of Fire & Ice" novels on which the series is based - the first of which, the series is titled after - Robb Stark's campaign against the Lannisters employs The Blackfish as a trump card.
As for Russell himself, American audiences may recognize him best for his role in the recent big-budget sequel "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows." Across the pond, the Scottish-born thespian is a veteran star of the big and small screens.
This is a rumor for the time being, but stay tuned to Yidio for an official announcement that The Blackfish is indeed coming when HBO decides to let the cat completely out of the bag.
