Harry Potter Characters 'React' Via Twitter To J.K. Rowling's New Book

J.K. Rowlings New BookAs Harry Potter grew from a boy of destiny into a hero of a young man over seven books (and, of course, eight movies), so grew author J.K. Rowling into a woman ready to reach for an audience closer to the age of Daniel Radcliffe circa "The Deathly Hallows" than the boy wizard who first sought out "The Sorceror's Stone."

And so it came to pass that Rowling made rare Twitter announcement Thursday that she been hard at work writing something targeting a more mature readership.

As the Washington Post notes today, she was only confirming straight from the hippogriff's beak what had already been widely reported. That didn't mean there wasn't yet fun to be had.

Look around long enough on Twitter, and one finds many favorite ficitional figures "tweeting" with fans and even mock-up accounts bearing related fellow characters' names and likenesses. Consider it "digital cosplay." So it didn't take long before a few HP "characters" had their respective two cents thrown in.

The defeated Dark Lord Voldemort didn't miss a beat with a few pithy reactions.

Also, a few good, maybe-idle-maybe-not threats....as should be expected.

But ultimately, even the baddest of the bad treat Rowling with her due respect.

A certain house-elf didn't apparently quite digest the "it's not 'Harry Potter'" fact yet....

Ah, then there's Snape. The taste of sour grapes never fades, does it?

Aw, Severus. Let me phrase this question as my fellow Interwebz denizens would: Snape, Y U B HATIN?
