Harrison Ford Joins 'Anchorman 2!'

The “Anchorman” sequel has added another cast member… and it might not be someone you’re expecting.

“Indiana Jones” star Harrison Ford announced he will be appearing in “Anchorman 2,” reportedly playing a legendary newscaster (compared to Tom Brokaw).

It’s not Ford’s first role as a newscaster. In 2010’s “Morning Glory,” he played grumpy desk legend Mike Pomeroy.

Ford’s name is also circulating around the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII,” which will be helmed by Disney and directed  by J.J. Abrams. Though no official confirmation is out, actors Mark Hamill, Ford, and Carrie Fisher have expressed a willingness to return to the roles their made famous.

“I’m very happy to still be working," Ford, 70, says. "When I imagined being an actor, I thought, Well, there are as many jobs for older people as for younger people. If you didn’t want to retire, you could work for as long as you were useful to the telling of a story. So I’m not worried about getting older. I’m fine with it. The kinds of roles that I’m playing now are as satisfying and interesting as anything I’ve done.”

Other big names attached to the “Anchorman” sequel already include Kristen Wiig, who will be portraying delightfully dense Brick Tamland’s love interest, and James Marsden.

Returning to reprise their hilarious roles are Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner.

Shooting for the comedy begins this month in Atlanta. "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" is set to open in December.
