Harrison Ford Injured on 'Star Wars' Set, Airlifted to Hospital

The problem with having a flashy car is you're more likely to get into trouble with it.

Take, for example, Han Solo, a.k.a. Harrison Ford, who was airlifted to a hospital today from the set of "Star Wars: Episode VII." Ford was reportedly shooting a scene in which he was either boarding or de-boarding the Millennium Falcon, when something went wrong.

According to sources, the injury occurred because the door to the iconic spaceship malfunctioned and landed on Ford's ankle. We would blame Chewbacca for the shoddy maintenance, but when you consider the time gap in between "Return of the Jedi" and this film, the Falcon is basically the equivalent of a souped-up 1950's Pinto. The thing was described as a "hunk of junk" nearly 40 years ago, so what kind of condition is it in now?

Anyway, Ford is going to be fine, but the ankle injury will probably keep him off the set for a couple of weeks. A statement from Disney said that "shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates."

The silver lining in all this is that we get this report of the incident, as delivered from the local Thames Valley Police. They described the call as such: "We were called to Pinewood studios at 5.05pm after reports of a 71-year-old man being injured by a garage door."

Well, at least they didn't call him "scruffy-looking."
