Halloween TV: A Terror-Filled Night (and Day) on Cable

It's Halloween and you're stuck at home, just you and your TV. Have no fear; you can still have plenty of spooky fun, even if your internet is down, thanks to the amazing Halloween programming that the TV networks have been nice enough to schedule for you. As long as you have cable and a remote, you're set.

AMC, home of The Walking Dead, has laid claim to the holiday's namesake film franchise, with all Michael Myers all day long. The fun begins at 2:00 am Eastern time, when the marathon begins with Halloween II, followed by Halloween III, and so on. The original Halloween airs at 2:00 pm Eastern, and the cycle starts over again.

Syfy has put together an impressive line-up of scary theatrical films, including The Omen, Insidious, Insidious: Chapter 2 and The Conjuring, as well as 1408, The Fog and Blade II.

AMC Family is also getting in on the fun by airing Poltergeist, Sleepy Hollow, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and, for some reason, Hocus Pocus twice, back-to-back.

And if you'd like to keep all your scares in the same vein, you can check out one of the numerous themed marathons showing back-to-back episodes of scary shows or installments in horror movie franchises all day and night. The marathons include A Nightmare on Elm Street on IFC, Ghost Adventures on Travel, Haunted History on History, Scream Queens on FX and Stephen King's Rose Red on Spike.
