Hacker Who Took Over Taylor Swift's Twitter Claims to Have Her Nudes
by Andy Neuenschwander
Can Taylor Swift shake this one off?
Earlier this week, a hacker briefly took control of Taylor Swift's Twitter and Instagram accounts, an opportunity he first used to tell people to follow various users presumably in his hacker ring.
Later, the hacker revealed that he had screenshots of a number of Swift's personal Direct Messages on her Twitter account, many of which were leaked.
Fortunately for Swift, there was nothing particularly incriminating in any of the messages, but the hacker now claims he has something Swift will care about: nude photos.
Swift, who addressed the hacking as soon as she regained control of her account, laughed off the threat. "PS any hackers saying they have 'nudes'? Psssh you'd love that wouldn't you! Have fun photoshopping cause you got NOTHING," she tweeted.
The hacker, now allegedly identified as "Veri" by Gawker, maintains that he's in possession of the nude photos and is attempting to sell them to TMZ.
Swift is famous for having her personal image locked down, at least these days. When her personal narrative got out of control following a string of relationships and breakups, Swift changed gears and has been almost exclusively spotted hanging out with female friends.
So it's unlikely that Swift would be so sloppy as to have nude selfies in her iCloud account, especially in the wake of the recent hack of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and other celebrities through similar means. However, it's possible that Swift took the photos a long time ago and assumed they were deleted.
