Gwyneth Paltrow Signs Record Deal With Atlantic

Gwyneth Paltrow Signs Record Deal With Atlantic On the same night she returned to "Glee," actress Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly signed with Atlantic Records for a $900,000 record deal. That's right, Gwenyth is about to be a full-fledged rock star!

Paltrow has really been making the rounds as a singer over the past few months, not only appearing on "Glee" and performing a few numbers, but also performing live at the Grammys, Country Music Awards, and Oscars.

The Oscar performance, of course, was for the movie "Country Strong," in which Gwenyth starred as a country singer on a comeback tour.

Will Gwenyth stick with the country crowd for her first solo album, or will she aim to please the "Glee" fans? Early rumors indicate both: sources who have heard Paltrow's music have called it "country pop," which would put her somewhere in the middle (sounds a bit Taylor Swift-ish to me). Nobody has mentioned whether or not it sounds any good yet.

Notably, Paltrow is married to rock star Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay.

His band is signed with EMI, so before any nay-sayers can say that she only has a deal because of him, that isn't the case. She might, however, only have a record because of "Glee" though.

"Country Strong" could have been enough on its own, but appearing on "Glee" seems to be all anyone needs to do to get some media buzz nowadays...and why not? It's one of the biggest shows on TV.

You'll probably have to wait a while to hear Paltrow's new album, but in the meantime be sure to catch her on this week's "Glee!"
