Guys, 'Seinfeld' Actor Wayne Knight is NOT DEAD!

Everyone settle. Wayne Knight (probably best known for playing Newman on "Seinfeld") is not actually dead, but just another unfortunate victim of an Internet hoax.

The news swept over websites during the weekend, prompting Knight to take to his Twitter to dispel the rumor.

"Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but... I am alive and well!" he announced. "Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn't know you cared. Glad to be breathing!"

Unfortunately, the crash which someone claims took Knight's life was a real accident, a major car crash on Route 446 in Pennylvania. 26-year-old Lindsay M. Schmidt was driving her Chevrolet Malibu when she was struck by the tractor-trailer. Schmidt was killed, and her fiance and two-year-old son were critically injured.

Knight acknowledged that his hoax pigbacked on a true tragedy.

"Regrets to my friends and family who were shocked this morning and the family of the woman who actually died in my 'supposed' accident," Knight tweeted thoughtfully.
