Episode Grey's Anatomy Season 7, Episode 14 - P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) Recap

Episode Grey's Anatomy Season 7, Episode 14 - P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) Recap Grey's Anatomy experienced a bit of a lull this week, plot-wise.  Normally I'm glued to the set, hoping at least one of the patients survives.  However, we must allow for stories to pick up, so I will let this go as long as we have a great season finale (I'll never get over season two's finale when Denny died. Never).

I sense a budding romance between Lexie and Dr. "Green Eyes" Avery, and I'm thrilled.  While I enjoy a good medical drama as much as the next person, everyone knows a little romance does the trick. Especially when it involves someone as good-looking as Dr. Avery.  Why do you think I'm so hooked on "The Vampire Diaries?"

It might be because I'm pouring all of my emotional energy into Avery and Lexie, but I'm not that interested in the sexual tension between Dr. Karev and Dr. Fields.  She's playing it cool in the "You're an arrogant turd and therefore I shan't date you" sort of way, and it's tiring.

Then again, how else is she going to get Karev to want her?  By being nice?

Look at Mark, Callie and Arizona raising a fetus together.  The non-pregos attempt to dictate the prego's diet, only to be shot down three votes to two (Callie, the unborn child and her "extra-special vagina").  Therefore, instead of grilled chicken, brown rice and broccoli, Callie has the pleasure of dining on coffee and pbj thanks to her "extra-special vagina vote."  One stipulation-she has to eat the broccoli.  Fair enough.

With Thatcher Grey back in the picture, I couldn't help but be a little sad for Meredith.  She's so detached from him that she's giving Lexie daughter-jealousy advice in the most objective way possible.  Meredith can't relate to Lexie's "don't-steal-my-dad" meltdown.  Here stands a recovering alcoholic who is smitten with her father, talking about when the pain in his stomach started (most recently during sexy time), and Lexie feels her relationship with Thatcher slipping away.  Not Meredith.  Meredith doesn't really even have a father, as far she's concerned.  Although Thatcher does have Meredith's kidney.

And let's talk about Dr. Avery going into plastics BECAUSE HE IS SO GORGEOUS!  Like Mark said, "Let's not pretend that being beautiful is a burden."  Damn straight.  Give us a smile, Dr. Green Eyes.

There were no real traumas going on in last night's episode.  The biggest lesson learned is that stupid human tricks are just that: stupid human tricks.  The gentleman with the dislocated hips is now a little less of a functioning human because he attempted to be shot over a house and into a pool, only to meet the cold, hard feel of a brick wall.
