Callie and Arizona Will Have a Big Fat 'Grey's Anatomy' Wedding

Callie and Arizona Will Have a Big Fat 'Grey's Anatomy' Wedding Many women already dream of one perfect wedding dress.

"Grey’s Anatomy" will give fans an opportunity to think of two with a double dose of bridal bliss during the same-sex marriage of Callie and Arizona.

"It's incredibly positive," Jessica Capshaw (Arizona) told TV Guide.

"The whole thing that I like about the episode is that it's not politicized. It's about two people falling in love and taking the step that solidifies and legitimizes them in their minds and community."

The shows executive produce Shonda Rhimes said she was excited about bringing the issue to television and speaking to the fact that it’s not legal, nor is it necessarily recognized by a church.

"We wanted to deal with that in a way that felt relevant and real, but also allow them a really magical wedding," Rhimes said.

Like any couple, Callie and Arizona have been on a rollercoaster that included a brief move to Africa for Arizona and a baby for Callie.

"There has been a lot of family conflict that's come up for Callie," Sara Ramirez (Callie) said, "When you look at the bigger picture, I know that there are some folks out there who will really appreciate seeing how all of this develops with the wedding, and seeing how one or two particular characters deal with family members who may not really accept what you're choosing."

The wedding will air Thursday on May 5 and expected to be jammed packed with drama and “bride-a-poolza.”
