'Gotham' Casts 'Masters of Sex' Star as Harvey Dent/Two-Face
by Andy Neuenschwander"Gotham" is about to have its Harvey Dent.
"Masters of Sex" star Nicholas D'Agosto has been cast in the Fox drama, which centers on future Batman ally and police commissioner Jim Gordon in his early years on the Gotham City police force.
Since this series takes place in a time period where Bruce Wayne is still a child, Harvey Dent will be portrayed as the optimistic criminal prosecutor and future district attorney.
However, looming in his future is his new persona (or half persona, anyway) as Batman's nemesis Two-Face.
D'Agosto made a splash in his role as Ethan on Showtime's "Masters of Sex," romancing Lizzy Caplan's sex researcher Virginia Johnson. However, now that the show is in its second season and taking place in a new location, D'Agosto has been written off the show along with a number of other actors.
"Gotham" is off to a strong start in the ratings as one of the top-performing freshman shows of the Fall season. D'Agosto joins a large cast of other future villains, including Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cory Michael Smith as Riddler, and Camren Bicondova as Catwoman.
