Gossip Girl Season 4 Episode 12 The Kids Have Too Much Time On Their Hands Recap

Gossip Girl Season 4 Episode 12 The Kids Have Too Much Time On Their Hands Recap I don't know about you, but I was very eager for "Gossip Girl" to come back to us.  Yet after last night's episode, I was left feeling bored and disappointed.  I'll remain committed, but I'm not as invested in the plot(s) as I once was.  Threats of a (very wrong) romantic pairing, twenty-year-olds meddling in multi-million dollar business affairs.

It's becoming more and more surreal as the episodes trail on.  Chuck and Serena's plan to take Lilly down while trying to save Bass industries?   No more meddling, pretty peaches.  They're called "grown-up problems" for a reason.

Sprinkle in poor planning and hasty decision-making because you're pissed at mom, and you've got a scenario that blows up in everyone's back-from-vacation face. Hot. Mess.

Meanwhile, Blair and Dan creep dangerously closer to developing feelings for one another.  We all knew something was a-brewing back in December, but we were REALLY REALLY hoping nothing would happen.  Of all the people on Gossip Girl to pair up, please don't let it be Blair and Dan.

While it would make sense in a perfectly soapy world (they loathe each other), the pairing would just be plain weird.  Awkward and weird.  So now that Dan isn't dating his ex-girlfriend/stepsister, he's free to take Blair to the Walter Reed theater. Stop!  Don't!  Just be friends.  Don't become exclusive.  Blair, you stay in Manhattan.  Humphrey, you stay in Brooklyn.  I can't trust you to hang around Lilly's UES apartment while Blair is a few blocks away.  It's too close for comfort.

Other Things That Bothered Me:

Only Serena would be responsible for putting a guy away for five years, then persuade him to join her for a cup of coffee minutes after he's released.  Being pretty can get you anything.

And did anyone see Eleanor Waldorf toss her fur coat at Dorota?  How dare you fling fur at Dorota, scorpion woman!!
