Golden Globes List of Winners: See Who Took Home a Trophy and Who Got Snubbed!

Could the Golden Globes be becoming more relevant?

In last night's telecast, the awards show that people usually mock for their odd or rubber-stamped choices (how many awards can one organization give to "Modern Family?") made a bunch of smart moves in honoring some very worthy projects and actors.

Among the surprises were Gina Rodriguez, the young star of "Jane the Virgin" who is considered to be the TV season's breakout star. With Rodriguez going up against the likes of Edie Falco and perpetual winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus, her chances seemed slim. Yet, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association gave the CW its first awards win since "Felicity."

Of course, the HFPA also made some strange choices, like doling out two awards to "The Affair," a freshman show on Showtime that hasn't earned a ton of buzz or critical praise. Another surprise was the win for "The Grand Budapest Hotel" over the much-lauded "Birdman" as Best Comedy in the motion pictures categories.
