Glenn Close Looks Great as a Man...But Why?

Glenn Close Looks Great as a Man...But Why? Take a really close (haha) look at this picture. Did you guess who it was before you even read the title and knew? It’s kind of scary what makeup can do to a person, isn’t it? Glenn Close is dressing like a man. On purpose! Has Glenn crossed over to the other side and become a transvestite?

Nope, Glenn is only doing her job. She has taken on playing a man’s role in the movie Albert Nobbs. Actually, she plays a female who has to portray a man in order to get a job in the 1800s Ireland.

Does Glenn pull off the look? She would pass for a man if you ask me – even by today’s standards. Do you smell awards nominations for this movie already?  From the New York Daily News:

Close transformed herself for the part of a woman who disguises herself as a man in order to join the workforce in Ireland in the 1800s in the big screen adaptation of George Moore's short story, "The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs."

Though the transformation is startling, this isn't the first time the Oscar winner has gone in drag for this particular role.

Close took on the role at the age of 35 in an off-Broadway play that ran at the Manhattan Theater Club to wide-spread praise from the critics.

Glenn has been focused on this movie since her TV show Damages was recently cancelled. What other projects do you think Glenn should do in the future? She’s done TV, movies. She’s played men, women, young, old. What type of character should she go out on a limb and try?
