Blaine is heading to Broadway!
"Glee" star Darren Criss, who plays the former Warbler turned New Directions member on the show, announced today that he will be taking over the role of Hedwig in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" on Broadway for a 12-week run.
Criss made the announcement via a short video, in which he sits down and addresses the camera. "I'm the new Berlin Wall, baby," he says, followed by a title that announces his role with the show.
Fans have already started showing their support, circulating the hashtag #DarrenIsHedwig on Facebook and Twitter.
This isn't Criss' first major turn on Broadway: Criss took advantage of a short break from "Glee" to play the lead in "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," a show that had previously been headlined by Daniel Radcliffe and Nick Jonas.
Criss now follows in the footsteps of other famous actors who have played the role of Hedwig, including "Girls" star Andrew Rannells, "The Breakfast Club" star Anthony Michael Hall, and "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris.
