Elton John Slams Kings of Leon of 'Glee' Refusal: 'Lighten Up, A**holes'

Elton John Slams Kings of Leon of 'Glee' Refusal: 'Lighten Up, A**holes' Sir Elton John has something to say to bands like Kings of Leon who don't want their music on "Glee"...as the music legend said on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" last night, "Lighten up, you a**holes."

John has expressed his desire not only to have his songs featured on "Glee," but to appear on the show himself. "It's so great when people do your songs," said John in his "Late Night" appearance. "I started off as a songwriter. Even now, when I get into an elevator and hear muzak... I feel really happy when it's one of my songs because it's a compliment when somebody records or does one of your songs."

"It doesn't matter if it's a bad version... it's just a thrill," he added.

A while back, Kings of Leon refused to let "Glee" cover their song "Use Somebody." This prompted "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy to declare "F*** you, Kings of Leon," which KoL responded to by telling Murphy to "buy a new bra." Murphy considered that response to be homophobic, and the feud never truly resolved itself.

I can understand bands being protective of their music, but Elton John made a good point: "This is a compliment, also it sends a positive message out. What the hell is wrong with you guys? 'Oh, we don't want our music played.' Well, Kings of Leon, lighten up guys, c'mon… listen, when someone wants to do your song, it's a compliment."

What do you think? Should bands be able to say no to "Glee" without being pestered? Is Sir Elton right? Let us know!
