'Glee' Shakeup: Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer Gone in Season Four

'Glee' Shakeup: Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer Gone in Season Four If you're a "Glee" fan, chances are your favorite character will not be back when Season 4 of the popular show comes around, according to a just-released interview with series creator Ryan Murphy.

Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith are “not going to be back at all for Season 4,” Murphy just told The Hollywood Reporter.

“You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year,” said Murphy.

He went even further, saying that “more characters are leaving than are staying” at the end of season three.

As we reported in June, Murphy has hinted at the eminent graduation in an interview with Ryan Seacrest.

“This next [season] will be their senior year, and then they will graduate,” he told Seacrest. “We didn’t to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted to be true to that experience.”

What do you think about the departure of Colfer, Michele and Monteith? What other characters will go on to graduate? Any chance "Glee" will pull a "Saved by the Bell: The College Years"?
