'Glee' Sets Full Michael Jackson Tribute Episode for January

'Glee' Sets Full Michael Jackson Tribute Episode for January It's official: the King of Pop is about to get the "Glee" treatment.

THR has confirmed that the "Glee" will do a full Michael Jackson tribute episode on January 24th, in which the cast will perform anywhere from 10 to 12 songs from Jackson's long career. That's a huge number of songs as compared to the usual episode of "Glee" (which usually features about 4-6 songs), so this could mean that the Jackson tribute episode could be extended to 90 minutes or longer.

If you saw last night's episode "Hold On to Sixteen," you might have seen this move coming. At their Sectionals competition, the New Directions sang a medley of Jackson hits, including "ABC" by the Jackson 5, "Control" by Janet Jackson and "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson.

There have been many rumors of a Jackson tribute episode pretty much since the show began, as Ryan Murphy and his team have been working to secure the rights to perform Jackson's many hits on the show.

This wouldn't be the first tribute episode from the musical dramedy, of course. The show has already sent up Britney Spears, Madonna and Lady Gaga in previous tribute eps. The Gaga one was an extended episode, so could could easily see the same with the Jackson one.

Should they actually perform a dozen or so songs, there's less risk of leaving out a big hit. But with a catalog that big, will the show be able to hit "Bad," "Beat It," "Dirty Diana," and "Billie Jean" and still have time for "PYT," "Smooth Criminal," "Black or White," "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" and "The Way You Make Me Feel?"

Phew. At least they've already done "Thriller" (kind of):
