The GLAAD Awards Honor 'Smash,' 'The Amazing Race'
by Shannon KeirnanThe GLAAD Awards (The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) presented more than Madonna in a boy scout uniform this year.
Leading the television awards were “Smash” and “The Amazing Race,” both honored for their positive presentation of homosexual issues.
Madonna, however, might have stolen the show in her satirical outfit. She donned the uniform to present Anderson Cooper with the Vitro Russo Award, which honors openly gay media professionals who have worked hard to promote equality.
“X Men: The Last Stand” director Brett Ratner was also honored when he was presented with the inaugural Ally Award for his work in the “Coming Out for Equality” PSA campaign with Comcast.
The event was hosted by “Good Morning America” anchors Lara Spencer, Josh Elliott, and Sam Champion. You can check out the full list of winners below.
