'Get Out' Leads Nominations for MTV Movie Awards

Jordan Peele's racially themed horror film Get Out isn't just a hit at the box office and with critics, the movie, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Girls' Allison Williams, has landed six nominations for the rebranded MTV Movie & TV Awards.
Get Out, which has a 99 percent freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has made more than $168 million at the global office, is nominated for movie of the year, best movie actor (Kaluuya), best villain (Williams), best comedic performance (Lil Rel Howery), best duo (Kaluuya and Howery) and "best fight against the system," which replaces "best fight," and recognizes a movie or TV show whose characters best exemplify fighting against a system that tries to keep them down.
Kaluuya is also nominated for the "next generation" award along with Riz Ahmed (The Night Of, Rogue One, Girls); This Is Us' Chrissy Metz; Insecure's Issa Rae and Black-ish's" data-scaytid="15">Black-ish's Yara Shahidi.
