Gerard Depardieu Spoofs Plane-Peeing Incident To Promote New Movie

Always remember, America: it isn't that the French have no sense of humor. It's just a collectively weird one. And come on, between Lindsay Lohan and Gerard Depardieu, I think it's now abundantly apparently which has an easier time laughing at oneself.

You might remember that the 1994 French star of the acclaimed "My Father the Hero" got himself kicked off a flight for tinkling in a bottle in the plane's aisle.

Well, not only was the veteran thespian appropriately contrite afterward, but it dawned on him "Hey, I have a movie coming soon! Might as well prove there's no such thing as 'bad' publicity..."

As long as he has himself a little temporary notoriety, Depardieu and the people hyping his upcoming comic adaptation "Asterix and Obelix: God Save Brittania" decided that as long as he can self-deprecatingly let the incident roll off his back, he might as well put it in the public's ear that he has a new movie arriving soon.

Enjoy this little tidbit courtesy of Perez Hilton of Depardieu ironically ensuring that people don't forget that one time he just couldn't make it to the bathroom. Oh, and of course, don't forget that "Asterix and Obelix: God Save Brittania" will be released in France sometime next year.
