George Clooney's Obama Fundraiser Under Tight Security

Just how tight is security at George Clooney's Los Angeles home tonight? Put it this way: if it only clocked in at "snare drum" or "water-tight as a duck's ass," Clooney would be picking bits of the ass he'd chew out of his teeth Friday morning with tonight's hors d'oeuvres.

The "Syriana" Oscar-winner and "The Ides of March" star makes ready tonight's $40,000-plate dinner fundraiser for President Barack Obama at his California residence, TMZ reports that his property is being watched over by a combination of Secret Service, Los Angeles Police Department and California Highway Patrol details. The LAPD contingent have thrown in their Counter Terrorist Unit, while Clooney obviously has his own personal security also keeping watch.

In the surrounding area, roads have been closed off and units assigned with bomb-sniffing dogs, as well as plain-clothes officers and air support.

Obama stole headlines yesterday with his admission to Robin Roberts in a "Good Morning America" interview on ABC that he's reversed his course approaching the United States' gay marriage debate. "At a certain point, I just concluded that for me, personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think that same-sex couples should be able to get married," he told Roberts.

Hollywood's elite, including such prominent gay personalities as Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Ricky Martin, George Takei and Jane Lynch, took to social media thanking Obama for supporting their equal rights.

"Thank you President @BarackObama for your beautiful and brave words. I'm overwhelmed," DeGeneres tweeted.
