George Clooney Is Engaged!
by Andy NeuenschwanderAnybody seen any flying pigs lately?
One of Hollywood's most puzzlingly single leading men, George Clooney, is now engaged, according to People. The magazine is claiming confirmation of the engagement from sources close to the couple, who say that it happened "not long ago."
The lucky lady is Amal Alamuddin, a British attorney who focuses on international law and human rights. Sounds like she and Clooney have a lot in common, seeing as Clooney has worked as a U.N. Ambassador and been heavily involved in human rights issues all over the world, particularly in Sudan.
The "Gravity" star, who is 52 this year, was first spotted with Alamuddin, who is 36, back in October of 2013 when the two went out to a dinner party together in London.
The couple was overheard talking about their recent engagement to Clooney's friend and fellow actor Edward Norton while out to dinner at Nobu in Malibu.
According to the sources, Clooney and Alamuddin are keeping the news low-key by not making any kind of public announcement, but aren't making a major effort to keep it a secret either.
The news has lit up the celebrity gossip mags, particularly since Clooney has seemed so anti-marriage in the past, ever since his first marriage to and divorce from actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993. More recently, Clooney had been romantically tied to Isabella Cannalis from 2009 to 2011, and Stacy Keibler from 2011 to 2013.
Sources say that the couple hasn't set a wedding date yet, but knowing Clooney, it'll be a very secret ceremony. So don't expect an invitation or anything.
