George Clooney Arrested, Still Handsome
by Andy NeuenschwanderGeorge Clooney got a little more awesome today as he and a group of activists took to the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, DC. Clooney, along with a number of other protesters present at the demonstration, was arrested and brought away in handcuffs.
Clooney was arrested along with his father, a few state representatives from Massachusetts, Martin Luther King III, and others for crossing a police line and refusing to back down. The group was there not only to protest the violence from the Sudanese government, but also to demand that humanitarian aid be allowed into the country.
Clooney, who has been active in raising awareness about the Sudanese conflict and has visited the country many times, was humble about the arrest: "I'm just trying to raise attention. Let your Congress know, let your president know," he said.
The Oscar winner, who most recently won awards for "The Descendants," noted that it is "a humiliating thing to get arrested no matter what you do." However, pictures of Clooney being taken away show that the movie star has a smile on his face, looking handsome despite the handcuffs:
