'How to Be a Gentleman' Yanked from Saturdays, Officially Toast

'How to Be a Gentleman' Yanked from Saturdays, Officially Toast Well, that didn't take long.

"How to Be a Gentleman," the new multi-camera sitcom on CBS, has officially been pulled from the Saturday lineup due to lackluster ratings. Of course, few shows would stand a chance on Saturdays, but "Gentleman" wasn't always in that desolate TV graveyard of a time slot: the show started out in a prime spot following "The Big Bang Theory," but was moved after it premiere to weak numbers there.

The premiere of the show saw a drop of more than 30% over last year's program in the same slot, "$#*! My Dad Says," which was cancelled after one season. The show continued to hemorrhage viewers in the second week and didn't fare much better on the weekend. In fact, the show failed to match the ratings of it's Saturday lead-in... a re-run of "Two and a Half Men."

It's a shame, considering there's some decent talent on the show. David Hornsby was always funny on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and Kevin Dillon's work as Johnny Drama on "Entourage" was entertaining. Plus, "24" alum Mary Lynn Rajskub, whom "24" fans might not know is hilarious, was also on the show.

Production on the show has been shut down since the move, and "How to Be a Gentleman" looks to have officially joined "The Playboy Club," "Free Agents" and "Charlie's Angels" as casualties of the Fall 2011 TV season.
