'Game of Thrones' Is Coming to IMAX Theaters

Pretty soon, you'll be able to watch TV's most epic show in entertainment's most epic format: "Game of Thrones" is coming to IMAX.
HBO and IMAX have announced a partnership to screen select episodes of the hit series in IMAX theaters starting this month, along with a special sneak peek at the season 5 trailer.
There will be two episodes screened, which will be remastered versions of the final two episodes of "Game of Thrones" season 4 adjusted to fit the IMAX format. Specific screening and ticket information isn't available yet, but it seems as though both episodes will be screened together, totaling about two hours runtime.
The good news is that one of those two episodes is "The Watchers on the Wall," the episodes that portrays the battle between the Wildlings and the Night's Watch at Castle Black. That was easily the most epic episode of the series in terms of action and scale, so it's a great fit for the IMAX format.
The bad news is we won't get to see the fight between The Mountain and The Viper in IMAX. A giant exploding head would've been pretty cool.
The episodes will screen across about 150 IMAX theaters all over the country from Jan. 23 to Jan. 29. Tickets should be on sale by the end of this week on IMAX.com.
