'Fuller House' Renewed for Third Season
by EG
Fortunately for Fuller House, Netflix tends to renew all of its original series for at least three seasons, no matter how popular the series is. The first season of the revival of 90s sitcom Full House was reportedly one of the streamer's biggest hits ever, but there's some indication that the series' second season was significantly less hot. A renewal for a third season came quickly anyway, to no one's surprise.
The second season of Fuller House, which was panned by critics across the board, debuted early in December to considerably less buzz than that surrounding the season-one premiere. According to ratings reporting service Symphony Advanced Media, viewership for the season-two debut fell of by two thirds compared to the audience for the first season.
Netflix, however, claims that Symphony's numbers are wildly inaccurate, and the streaming service refuses to release viewership numbers for any of its content. Renewal announcements for Netflix originals usually come quickly, too, and virtually every original series gets one.
Absent any reliable viewership numbers, there's no reason to think the renewal of Fuller House means that the series' second season is generating excitement. Regardless, we're getting a third season, whether we want one or not. p>
