Friends: 'Brooke Can't Stay Sober On Her Own'

Friends: 'Brooke Can't Stay Sober On Her Own' According to People, Brooke Mueller's friends may have just thrown her under the bus.

Either that, or they're just being honest about a situation. It depends on how one looks at it, perhaps.

The magazine claims that friends say in the wake of the 34-year-old ex-wife of Charlie Sheen's recent Aspen, CO arrest for cocaine possession and assault that standard rehab just won't do the trick.

"Brooke can't stay sober on her own," one source said. ""Maybe this [arrest] will force her to go into a treatment center for a long stay. Thirty-day rehabs won't work for her."

That particular source added that Mueller's family has been trying for some time to talk her into more extensive rehabilitation, to no avail. The hope is now that Mueller's family will care for her kids while the court orders a long rehab stay, People alleges.

Mueller representative Steve Honig told People that these "sources" aren't acting like friends to his client.

"I think anyone who is truly a friend of Brooke's would not be spending their time talking anonymously and behind her back to the media," Honig said. "I seriously question the validity of any comments made by these people alleging to be friends with Brooke."

As a result of the recent arrest, Mueller now has a Dec. 19 Colorado District Court date to answer the charges.
