French Fans Call Madonna 'Slut' After Singer Cuts Concert Short
by Andy NeuenschwanderMadonna's European concert tour is quickly turning into the Piss Off Europe-Palooza. Earlier, we reported about Madonna's unnecessarily confrontational stop in Scotland, in which she waved guns around on stage despite a strict gun ban there.
Now that she has sufficiently angered the Scots, it seems that the French are next on the list. Madonna performed in Paris on Thursday night to a packed house full of die-hard fans, many of whom had camped outside the venue the night before and paid up to 250 euros for their tickets.
The problem: Madonna only performed for 45 minutes.
That was enough to earn yells of "salope!" from the crowd (which means "slut" in French) along with demands to get their money back. Those who attended the concert quickly took to Twitter and voiced their disappointment, with one fan citing Bruce Springsteen's nearly four-hour concert as a point of comparison.
Madonna's hurricane of attention mongering also included putting the face of right-wing French politician Marine le Pen on screen during her concert with a swastika over his face. In reponse to the backlash from that stunt, Madonna said, "I don't want to make enemies."
You certainly don't, Mads, especially not with a mob of angry French people. Just ask Marie Antoinette.
