Former 'House' Flame To Return This Season

Former 'House' Flame To Return This Season With speculation circulating that this season may be the last dance for FOX's "House," why not pull out some last stops to revive interest?

TVLine has confirmed that Dr. House's Season Seven green-card wife Dominica (played by Karolina Wydra) will be returning this season, and may take up a recurring role.

Though she and House married last spring following his split with the now-departed Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), Dominica hasn't appeared since last season. That gives the impression of some quiet, off-screen ret-con at first glance, but one "House" source claims the show's writers and producers know better. She's rumored to be due back in "early '12," according to the TVLine report.

"You can't just marry for a green card and expect to never see each other again," suggested executive producer Greg Yaitanes.

Actually, sir, on the contrary: catch him in an ill enough mood, and I could aboslutely see House finding that kind of arrangement completely reasonable, if not preferable.

This season hasn't given much reason to figure that it isn't a matter of "if" but "when" during this season an announcement will come that the show's done. The seeming consensus among fans appears to be that when Cuddy/Edelstein left, she took the best of the heart of House/"House" with her. Fans have reacted right here on Yidio that shuffling the show's timeslot and the impact of Edelstein's departure on the cast's dynamic have made the show, as one fan put it, "a shell of its former self" that's "lost its edge."

Though it can't be taken as a guarantee that the show is done, Laurie himself has also already commented that when "House" ends, so ends his 30-year, award-winning career as a television actor that began on the BBC.
